Upcoming Elections!

The State General Election, also commonly referred to as midterm elections, are right around the corner! Voting is a great way to make your voice heard and spark change you would like to see on a community and state level. Top state offices are on the ballot, including governor, attorney general, secretary of state, US Senate, and public school superintendent in addition to a proposition about healthcare. Keep reading to learn more about important voter information for yourself and constituents! 

Although the voting registration period has closed, here are some other important dates to keep in mind:

• Request your mail-in ballot by October 28th using the Active Early Voting List registry, which offers both online and mail-in options. If individuals would like more assistance when registering, they are able to contact the County Recorder’s Office at 1-877-843-8683. 
  • Mail-in ballots need to be received by the voting station by November 8th, so make sure you give yourself plenty of time to mail your ballot ahead of time! 
  • Not sure if your ballot has been received? Track the status of your ballot here! 
• Official voting day is November 8, 2022. If you’d like to vote in person, or drop off your mail-in ballot, find your polling location here! 
  • Check your voter registration status to ensure you’re eligible to vote!
  • You must bring at least one form of photo ID, or two forms of nonphoto ID to vote. Members of federally recognized tribes may present a tribal ID that does not contain an address or photo to cast a ballot. 
  • Polls are open from 6 am to 7 pm on election day. If individuals are still in line past 7 pm, they’re able to stay in line and vote!

Proposition 209, known as the Interest Rate Limit on Debt from Healthcare Services and Collection Exempt Property and Earnings Increase Initiative, would reduce maximum interest rates on medical debt and is on the ballot for this election.
